Maria is currently taking new private clients for Yoga Therapy sessions. Private Yoga Therapy sessions are designed specifically with your goals, needs and challenges in mind. Sessions include (1) an initial intake and session to address your current and previous health history, (2) a tailored Yoga Therapy program that includes yoga movement and postures, meditation, breathwork and relaxation, and (3) at-home practices (short videos, audio recordings and/or visual aids) to support you in between your private sessions with Maria.

Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, yoga therapy is the specific application of yogic tools—postures/exercises, breathwork, meditation techniques, and more—to address an individual’s physical, mental, and emotional needs.

Yoga therapists have in-depth training to help them assess and keep their clients safe. They work with you to address your specific goals while considering any limitations you might be experiencing. 

The practices your yoga therapist recommends could include:

  • Movement 

  • Breathing techniques
  • Meditation or visualization practices
  • Physical postures that address specific areas of discomfort or musculoskeletal imbalances
  • Any combination of tools like these

About Maria

Maria is Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with additional foundational training in Hatha & Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Yoga Nidra and Chair Yoga. Her private sessions and group classes help her students thrive in everyday movement with self-compassion and self-acceptance at heart. She aims to teach mindful, inclusive and accessible yoga, infusing her sessions and classes with knowledge about our body’s anatomy and unique variations.

She hopes that those who practice with her discover more about their body, breath, heart, and mind each time they come to the mat or chair and that with each practice, they welcome themselves with kindness, gentleness, curiosity and lots of love. 

Maria teaches through a trauma informed lens with a focus on creating an inclusive and inviting space within her classes, workshops, and sessions.
